The Two Witnesses

“And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days (3½ years), clothed in sackcloth.” REVELATION 11:3 These two witnesses represent the 144,000 (God’s elect) as well as the many other disciples who are soon to rise up throughout the earth. They will have the power of Christ where It takes two witnesses (two disciples) to be able to receive this power. Christ says to his disciples (his witnesses), “If two of you (two of his disciples) agree on earth as touching anything that they shall ask, it shall be done.” MATTHEW 18:19 The 144,000 are the first fruit (the first leaders) whose main job is to make sure this gospel of the kingdom is preached in all the world by being sealed before the great tribulation begins. “And, I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel (God).” REVELATION 8:2-4 This means that there will be at least two witnesses in every part of the world (two witnesses/100,000+ population) before the great tribulation begins. This will then fulfill Christ’s prophesy, “And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto ALL nations; and then shall the end (the great tribulation) come.” MATTHEW 24:14 In other words, the 144,000 witnesses (God’s elect) and the many other witnesses (disciples) are to be empowered with God’s power that will help protect them and His people until they have finished their testimony in accordance with God’s word. These two witnesses will be positioned in every part of the world, and they will have the power to do all things. MATTHEW 18:19 They are to judge the world by prophesying about the coming kingdom of God on earth. However, as soon as the great tribulation (great persecution of God’s people) begins, then the two witnesses will be scattered (forced to go underground) and be subject to being martyred as Christ was. “And their dead bodies (no more public preaching) shall lie in the streets of the great city (Babylon the great).” REVELATION 11:8 The first resurrection, the rapture, the wrath of God and the return of Christ will follow immediately after the great tribulation. The great city, Babylon, will then come to its violent end. “And a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone, and cast it into the sea (people), saying, Thus with violence shall that great city Babylon be thrown down, and shall be found no more at all.” REVELATION 18:21
